A facelift is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures available

A facelift is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures available, designed to treat wrinkles, sagging and skin laxity within the face for a younger, and more refreshed appearance. As we age, the effects of time, gravity, sun exposure, and stress inevitably take their toll on our faces, producing wrinkles, folds, and loose skin.

During the consultation, Dr. Acharya will assess the patient and review their medical history to determine their candidacy for the procedure. He will also answer any questions or concerns the patient may have. Patients will also be guided through their full range of options for facial rejuvenation, including procedures like fillers or Botox® injections, which can complement the effects of a surgical treatment. Dr. Acharya’s goal is for patients to have a thorough understanding of the best options to reach their aesthetic goals.

The most commonly performed SMAS facelifts achieve their lift at a deeper level below the skin, for the best long term results. The incisions are made just in front of the ear and wrap around the back of the ear and hide mostly within the hairline. Newer short-scar facelifts are used when possible to avoid lengthy incisions. During surgery, the anatomy of the face becomes more defined.  In the next day or so, dressings are removed. Most of the sutures are dissolvable but the rest are removed over the next week or so. The amount of swelling that you may get is variable, but you can resume most normal activities within 2 week and should begin getting compliments on your new look within three weeks.
